YPT CHOIR
Call for Participation
Young People’s Theatre and Smile Theatre are pleased to partner together to introduce the YPT Choir, an intergenerational pilot program for passionate singers!
Do you have a young person in your life who can carry a tune or two? Do they have a
grandparent or grandpal who is a radio diva or a shower belter? Well, we are looking for them!
The YPT Choir is where joy and music meet. A unique six-week program designed for a
mixed-aged group of music enthusiasts to sing, play and build a musical community together.
Participants will learn and sing songs that are inspired by the shows in YPT’s current season, and connect as an ensemble through drama inspired games and exercises. Sessions will feature guest professionals and will culminate with 1 super-secret performance at the theatre. For its inaugural cohort, we are seeking interested pairs of Grandparents and Grandchildren (children must be ages 7 years old and up).
Please note, we define Grandparent as a senior
(ages 60+) who has a deep connection with a young person in their life but not necessarily
related.
There is no cost to participate. Every session will include light refreshments.
Space is limited and registrations will be prioritized on a first-come-first-served basis.
Participants must be available on Sunday June 1, 2025.
